Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Across America Invades Los Angeles

The last stop on Sierra Nevada‘s Beer Camp Across America Beer Festivals was Long Beach, CA and us aliens were lucky enough to get invited to join the invasion. After taking the spaceship out for the day and finding a spot for it, we had many options to fuel up with the spectacular lineup that was featured in their last stop.

IMG_0892We obviously had to stop by their tent, to try out the six collaboration beers that were featured for this year’s Beer Camp Across America. Sierra Nevada had partnered with 31 different breweries in 6 different regional teams to create these features for a one-time-only variety pack. The features for the 2016 year include: Sweet Sunny South (Southeast), Moxee Moron (PNW & Rockies), Family Values (Midwest), West Latitude (NorCal), Pat-Rye-Ot (Northeast & Mid Atlantic), and Stout of the Union (Southwest).

In addition to Sierra Nevada’s featured Beer Camp beers, many local California breweries were featured at this event. This included some local favorites: AleSmith Brewing Company, Stone Brewing Co, Coronado Brewing, Bear Republic, and many others. There were also many out-of-state brewers that were featured such as Ska Brewing from Durango, CO., Alaskan Brewing Company from Juneau, AK., and Maui Brewing Co. from Kihei, HI. With so many styles of beers featured at this event, there is no doubt that the tastebuds of all those who attended were dancing in joy.

Some of our favorites of the day were Ska’s Mexican Logger, Three Weaver’s Cambria Kolsh, and Wolf Creek Brewery’s Howlin’ Hefe. If you can get your hands on it, be sure to try these brews!

Us aliens had a great time enjoying the summer sun out in Los Angeles for Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Across America and we hope to invade another Sierra Nevada event again soon! We definitely hope they have a Beer Camp Across America 2017 and we would highly recommend those that missed this year be on the lookout next year because this event was out of this world! Karen I am a adventure-seeker, dog lover, and beer enthusiast from Honolulu, Hawaii who is now enjoying life in San Diego. My interest in craft beer began in Belgium during my time studying abroad in London, England, and was only furthered after I returned to the States. Since moving down to San Diego, I have enjoyed many new experiences with my pup, including visiting pet-friendly tasting rooms and the city’s great outdoors. I enjoy her daily cup of coffee and quality time spent at the gym. As someone always looking forward to trying something new, being an Alien will open doors to new experiences.

We are hard working aliens trying to survive on planet Earth.
