BeerAlien invaded SeaWorld® San Diego’s Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival on April 1st to see what the excitement was all about. We had an amazingly fun time drinking 80 local San Diego craft beers, eating delicious international human food created by SeaWorld® San Diego’s executive chef Axel Dirolf and incredible mai tais and pina coladas served in pineapples. The staff were awesome and knowledgeable about the food and beer on offer. Our outgoing personalities soon had lots of humans joining us for the pineapple drinks, laughs and more laughs. They also had sake and wine on offer, although we skipped the wine. 


Chef Axel took us around on a tour of the beer and food stations scattered around the park and explained each dish and helped with craft beer pairing options. Chef Axel was a lot of fun to hang out with as he was always joking around and laughing. That human can make delicious human food too! We aliens were impressed and we suggest that the rest of you humans get over to SeaWorld® San Diego on a weekend in April. After April, the Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival ends.

The taps are flowing and internationally-inspired cuisine is being served at San Diego’s premier and only month-long culinary spectacular—SeaWorld® San Diego’s Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival, weekends in April. With a wave of more than 80 local craft beers, a menagerie of more than a dozen wine varietals and nearly 60 delectable food samplings, this expanded, five-weekend festival will tantalize the taste buds of every foodie with gourmet offerings created by SeaWorld’s award-winning executive chef, Axel Dirolf and his acclaimed culinary experts.

All-new aromatic offerings from Tuscany and Southern California make this year’s craft beer and food celebration bigger and better than ever, and it can only be experienced at SeaWorld.

Embarking on a global gastronomic cruise without leaving SeaWorld, guests will savor palate-pleasing flavors from France, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean to Latin America, Polynesia and Asia. The journey to every culinary destination, featuring specially designed architectural facades, will immediately immerse guests into each region’s unique cultural as well as culinary landscape.

“Here at SeaWorld we are setting the standard for what a true beer and food festival should be,” said celebrity chef Dirolf, who has cooked for a former U.S. president as well as British and Saudi royalty. “I’m excited to share our fresh and bold flavors from across the globe. It will be a feast of fine food our guests will never forget.”

Each weekend, three of San Diego’s top craft breweries will be featured, with brewers sharing the history of their breweries and recommending beer-food pairings. Ballast Point Brewing and Spirits Co., Green Flash Brewing Co., Stone Brewing, Alpine Beer Company, Mike Hess Brewing and Groundswell Brewing Company lead a star-studded lineup of local craft brewers that continue to gain national and international praise for their award-winning beers.

Sweet-tune performances by renowned musicians pulled straight from San Diego’s music scene will be a feast for the eyes and ears on three live-entertainment stages. Cool surf sounds will put guests in the spirit of Southern California at the SoCal Flavors Stage area while reverberations of the cabaret will waft from the French Flavors Stage. A trip to the Polynesia Flavors Stage will electrify with high-energy hula and haka acts that will have guests aloha dancing while fire dancers sizzle out the evening with blazing performances.

With 14 distinctive culinary destinations throughout the park, guests can sample nearly 60 delicious food selections!
