Limited Edition Pumpkin Beer Goes National August 5
Redhook Brewery, the Northwest’s original craft brew, announced today that its new Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter will hit shelves August 5th and will be available through September 30th. Released in New England markets only last year, the Pumpkin Porter will be available nationally this year. Named “one of the most drinkable pumpkin beers we’ve ever had” by Modern Brewery Age, fans are encouraged to stock up early for this limited edition beer.
Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter is dark chestnut brown in color and is made with pureed pumpkin. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger are added to the whirlpool and maple syrup is added during fermentation. Lightly hopped with Northern Brewer hops, Pumpkin Porter is a full-bodied, rich and roasty porter perfect for all things fall – eating turkey, watching football or drinking with your buddies around a bonfire.
“We had a lot of fun with this brew,” said Alex Kopf, Redhook senior brewer. “We wanted to make a great porter and added traditional fall flavors – pumpkin, chocolate, maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg – to put a little Redhook twist on the style.”
Redhook Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter will be available in 6 and 12 packs of 12 oz bottles and in individual 22 oz bottles. Draught beer will be poured with a cleaver-shaped tap handle as a nod to pumpkin carving. ABV 5.8%; IBU 20.
Redhook was born out of the energy and spirit of the early 80’s in the heart of Seattle. While the term didn’t exist at the time, Redhook became one of America’s first “craft” breweries. From a modest start in a former transmission shop in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard, to the current breweries in Woodinville, WA and Portsmouth, NH, Redhook has become one of America’s most recognized craft breweries.
While Redhook has “grown up” over the past 30 years, one thing has never changed – Redhook is still brewing great beers like ESB, Long Hammer IPA, and Audible Ale. Most importantly, Redhook has fun doing it. Redhook beers are available both on draught and in bottles around the country. For more information, visit www.redhook.com.
