4.7Overall Score

Us Aliens have found great pleasure in snuggling up on the couch with a nice stout. It simply warms the “soul” or whatever you humans call it, and this decadent Imperial Stout really does the job. Prarie Artisan Ale’s Prairie Bomb! is cornucopia of flavor, featuring vanilla bean, chocolate, espresso and anocho chile peppers creating a dangerously drinkable stout at 13% ABV.

IMG_6547Appearance: Poured black with a slight reddish tint. Minimal tan head that dissipated quickly.

Aroma: HOLY MOLY, they should change the name of this beer to Chocolate Bomb! Right away you are hit with delicious rich chocolate mixed with sweet vanilla and subtle coffee notes.

Flavor: Flavor follows the aroma with milky chocolate up front followed by the vanilla bean and light coffee notes. For a 13% ABV beer the alcohol is extremely well hidden.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and velvety, medium to medium-heavy body and a nice amount of carbonation.

Overall: All the flavors in this beer blend together beautifully, from the heavy chocolate and vanilla to the lighter notes of coffee and anocho chile peppers.
