Here is another fresh craft beer from Pizza Port Solana Beach! Making pie since 1987 and brewing since 1992, Pizza Port is one of San Diego’s original craft breweries. Stop by one of their multiple southern California locations and grab a slice and a pint, or check out their bottle shop!

The Campgrounds Extra Pale Ale comes courtesy of Head Brewer at Solana Beach, Adam Jester. Check out our Meet the Brewer segment with him here!

Appearance: The Campgrounds pours a hazy amber golden color. Small creamy head that leaves a nice spider webbed lacing on the glass as you enjoy it.

Aroma: No real prevalent aromas here. Very small hint of malt and hops.

Taste: Campgrounds is an extremely refreshing beer. Very light with tones of toasted malt and hops. Toasty almost bready flavors that are mild and not crazy on the palate. Crisp and clean finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied beer with moderate to high carbonation level.

Overall: Great overall Pale Ale that is refreshing and clean. Nice toasty malt flavor that gives the drinker just the right amount of flavor. Great beer to drink in the summer. Head over to the Solana Beach location and give it a try!

PR / Marketing Intern

I am a sports fanatic, music lover, outdoor enthusiast and beer advocate born and raised in sunny San Diego, CA. While I am not out exploring San Diego’s craft beer scene, I can be found hanging out at the beach with friends or attending southern California’s many live music events. My passion for craft beer was inherited from my father while home brewing together in their garage. I continued to share his passion for craft beer with friends while attending college in Los Angeles, where I was able to explore the craft beer scene outside of San Diego. In the future, I hope to be involved in Marketing/ Event Planning for the craft beer industry so I can spread my love and passion for beer with the larger San Diego community. I am an avid sports fan and can be seen sharing a pint with other aliens at local Padre and Charger games!
