Establish in 2007, New English Brewing Co. has grown and they now have 11 signature beers. Their Why Not? American Wheat has won gold twice, silver and bronze at the LA County Fair! We wanted to see what the hype was all about, so we grabbed ourselves a cold one and headed to the beach to enjoy this light, creamy wheat beer by the breaking shores of the Southern California coast…. sweet!

ABV: 4.6%

Appearance: In the glass it glows a soft, hazy pale yellow with a minimal, quick-to-dissipate, frothy head.

Aroma: It has a somewhat sweet, mild fruity aroma with hints of biscuits and freshly baked pie crust because of the strong wheaty presence.

Taste: Upfront is has a moderate wheat presence with a slight fustiness and a touch of malty sweetness that folds into the finish. Not too complex, just an easy drinking beer that will quench the thirst and leave you wanting more.

Mouthfeel: The slight maltiness leaves a bit of creaminess on the palette but the carbonation adds a bit of lightness to the wheat profile. A perfect combination that results in a light-medium body, great for beach days and bonfires.

Overall: This is your classic American Wheat beer and a perfect example of what an American Wheat Beer should taste like! You can take a few cold ones to the beach, or your summer picnic or BBQ, and know you’re drinking an all-around great beer that’s sure to please all. Not to mention it pairs with just about any Spring and Summer foods we can think of!
