Rampant Imperial IPA
New Belgium Brewing Company
ABV 8.5%
IBU 85
Style American Double IPA/ Imperial IPA

Brewed and bottle in Fort Collins, Colorado, New Belgium Brewing Co’s Rampant Imperial IPA is one of the craft beers that they offer year round. Living up to being an IPA, this particular beer is burly and bitter with a nice, dry finish with the perfect amount of carbonation. For those who enjoy a good, bitter IPA, this would be fantastic one to try. It is light and refreshing while living up to its name. What is surprising about this particular IPA is the underlying, and very subtle sweetness from the malts that are used.

This particular IPA pours golden but almost copper with a nice, although slightly rocky, white foam head.

Aroma
There is a prominent lemon citrus and floral hop aroma with notes of fresh grass and spicy pine. The brewery uses mosaic and calypso hops to highlight stone fruit flavors, while the centennial hops add citrus to create a well-rounded aroma.

Taste
The malts that are incorporated into the IPA leaves hints of sweetness with each sip. However, since it is an IPA, it does come with a little bitterness from the hops.

Mouthfeel
This is a medium to light-bodied beer with a high carbonation, which results in a nice, dry finish.
