Still looking for the perfect gift this holiday? Well, look no further than your grocery store shelves! Two of our favorite teams have collaborated to make this special brew that will be lurking in the beer aisle at your local store for a limited time. So while you’re shopping for your holiday dinner feast, pick up a 6-pack, or two, of these genius-ly crafted brews to give to the craft beer lover, sweet tooth, or just plain awesome human, on your list. They will wonder how you got your hand on this, get good laugh, and thank you for bringing this liquid joy into their life this holiday. Just like the Beer Aliens don’t enjoy light, fizzy tasteless beer much, we’re not huge fans of plain jane ice cream either – we love Ben & Jerry’s for their creative concoctions and so too love our beers just as artfully crafted.

This Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale is dark brown and pours with a thick head of tightly clustered bubbles. It’s aroma is sweet and nutty, with hints of chocolate and spice. The flavors are more subtle than we had expected, with just a touch of sweetness and a very low hop profile. We expected it to be a bit creamier, but it goes down smoothly, and is actually a great beer for just drinking since it is not too strong or complex. We tasted chocolate malt, some biscuit bread-iness, and and some toasted nuts. We also got more upfront flavors of caramel and brown sugar. Medium-light body with a lingering aftertaste that will trick you into thinking you just ate dessert, but comes with slightly less guilt and no sugar high. Zero calories?… think again.

You don’t often head to the store to buy yourself a dessert inspired beer, but us aliens had so much fun drinking, baking with, and sharing this ice cream brew. Click here to check out our Boozy Brownie Sundae recipe! And feel free to get creative with your gift-giving. Pair with a cool beer glass, a sampler glass set, a pint of Ben & Jerry’s new Salted Caramel Brown-ie Ale Ice Cream (yes, there’s such thing…) or stick in a stocking just for fun! And be sure to share your stories and pictures with us here or on our social media!
