“Named after an awesomely weird utopian commune founded in 1848, which was way ahead of the curve on such titillating topics as complex marriage, male continence, and mutual criticism” comes the Oneida. Only available June through August, this awesomely “dank” brew delivers hoppy fragrances and great combinations of malt and bitter hops. Grab some before it’s too late!
Appearance: The Oneida pours a light golden color with a surprising amount of clarity to the brew. Almost no head at all that quickly dissipates
Aroma: Strong hop aroma very upfront and present. Citrus and pineapple with a slight hint of malt
Taste: At first the drinker is met with a medley of hops. The Oneida is brewed with Hallertau Blanc, Cascade & 05256 hop strains that all combine to create a flavorful and balanced taste. The brew then transitions to a more mild malty taste that mellows out the flavor and leaves the drinker wanting more.
Mouthfeel: Hoppy and flavorful up front and then moves to a more mild malty flavor. Mild aftertaste. No residual bitterness. Medium carbonation level. Smooth and clean finish.
Overall: The Oneida has the best of both worlds. Flavorful strains of hops morph together to create a great tropical fruit flavor with just the right amount of bitterness. Then, at just the right moment, the brew transitions to a more subtle, malty flavor that mellows out the hops without killing the flavor. Such a great brew that we wish it was available all year round! A great reason to look forward to summer and we will be sad to see it leave. Perfect for any summer occasion; grab some before the season is over!!
