Once again, Keuka Brewing Company of Hammondsport has taken home an award from TAP-NY. This highly prestigious event was held April 29 and 30 at Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl in Hunter, NY. There were over 137 breweries in attendance.
Keuka Brewing Co. won a bronze medal for their Ghost of Rita, a margarita style Gose ale.  This beer is a German sour that is made with salt from Seneca Lake salt mines, lime peel and coriander. The specialty yeast that is cultured from yogurt is used to give it a tart flavor. The beer has a 4.5% ABV and is made from a mix of malted wheat and barley with a bit of smoked malt as well.
The Ghost of Rita is sold on draft through distributors to regional bars and restaurants and is also available in 12oz. cans in grocery stores such as Wegmans and Tops Markets. Keuka Brewing Co. also packages five other beer brands in 12oz. cans including their Hoppy Laker IPA, Local Mocha Stout, Afterburner Habanero Blonde, Fat Stack Maple Pecan Porter and 607 Vienna Lager.
Keuka Brewing Co. won the top award at TAP-NY in 2014 and was named the F.X. Matt  New York State’s Best Craft Brewery.  In 2016, KBC took home another bronze medal  for their Local Mocha Stout.
Keuka Brewing Co.’s tasting room is open to the public Wednesday – Sunday from 12-5 pm. The brewery is located on the beautiful Keuka Lake wine trail at 8572 Briglin Rd. Hammondsport, NY.
