Helm’s Brewing, located in Ocean Beach and Kearney Mesa, will release a special beer on Wednesday, September 28, at 5 p.m, brewed with hops grown in the Ocean Beach Community Garden. In an effort to support the idea of “thinking local” and community engagement, Helm’s spent the last six months growing hops (Cascade, Citra, Chinook, and Magnum) in the OB garden, and they plan on releasing the beer, “OB Fresh,” at their Ocean Beach (4896 Newport Ave, San Diego, CA 92107) location during the farmer’s market.

Head brewer Daniel Morris will be there to talk about the brewing process. OB Fresh is an extra pale ale and is the first beer from Helm’s Brewing to feature San Diego grown hops.
