Gulden Draak Brewmasters Edition Review
4.3Overall Score
Reader Rating: (1 Vote)

Gulden Draak Brewmaster’s Edition comes in a beautiful gold bottle and pours a dark straw with puffy even head that quickly dissipates.  Gulden Draak Brewmaster’s Edition is a barrel aged version of Gulden Draak aged in whiskey barrels. This 10.5 ABV special release was a hit at the Beer Alien tasting meeting held at Plan 9 Alehouse in Escondido, CA in February, 2015.

The aromas given off by this beer are toffee, oak, vanilla and cinnamon. Those aromas invited us to dive in and experience the flavor. Taking a few sips of Gulden Draak Brewmaster’s Edition, we tasted hop pepper followed by malt sweetness, honey, oak and whiskey. Gulden Draak Brewmaster’s Edition is very carbonated and felt thick and a little dry. The aromas and flavors combined to create a dynamic, well balanced, champagne like brew that left us wanting more than one bottle.

Special thanks to our resident taste expert alien Brian Parker for the tasting notes.
