Gordon Biersch Brewing Company announced today that its WinterBock, a seasonal favorite in the Bay Area since the opening of the original Gordon Biersch restaurant in 1988, is in stores now.


WinterbockBock is a German beer style originally developed by eleventh century Bavarian monks as a form of sustenance during Lenten fasts. In keeping with the ages old tradition, Gordon Biersch WinterBock is hearty and creamy. The classic dark, full-bodied double bock features five different types of malt: Munich malt, pilsner malt, black malt and two different caramel malts. ABV: 7.5%; IBU: 26

Like all Gordon Biersch products, WinterBock is brewed in adherence to the “Reinheitsgebot,” the German purity law of 1516 which stipulates the use of only four ingredients – water, malt, hops and yeast. 

WinterBock will be available through January wherever Gordon Biersch products are sold. Six packs range in price between $8.99 and $9.99.
