Bourbon County Stout (2015 Vintage)
ABV: 13.8%
IBU: 60
Style: American Double/ Imperial Stout

A part of Goose Island’s barrel aged craft beer series, the Bourbon County Stout (2015 vintage) is an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels in honor of their 1000th batch at their original Clybourn brewpub. It’s the perfect craft brew for those who enjoy a darker beer with hints of bourbon.

Appearance: Goose Island’s Bourbon County Stout pours an opaque, very dark brown colour with a fine layer of a mocha colored foam head

Aroma: True to its name, the stout has a strong bourbon aroma with notes charred spice, caramel sweetness, vanilla, chocolate and smoky roasted malt. There’s also hints of nutty scents

Taste: The taste of the bourbon county stout is similar to its aroma. The taste of bourbon is present from the start, with charred oak and smoky malts to follow. It also has subtle notes of chocolates, caramel, toffees and other nuts

Mouthfeel: It has a full-bodied feel, and is creamy, thick and silky, with low amounts of carbonation. For the alcohol content it has, the Bourbon County Stout goes down smoothly
