William Everard brewed the first pint of Everards ale in 1849, and stated “No effort shall be found wanting in the production and supply of genuine ale of first rate quality”. Everards Brewery is located in England and is probably most famous for their Tiger Best Bitter.
The Everards pub estate comprises over 170 pubs that vary from village inns to community locals. All their pubs are within their heartland, a 70 mile radius of their Leicestershire brewery in England and they are all tenancies. They have a number of pubs where they have partnered with other brewers to offer a wide range of local ales – they call them Project William pubs and Tiger is still available on their bars. Visit their pubs page to find a pub near you or join Everards to find out more about running an Everards pub.
The latest chapter of Everards’ Project William has led to the resurrection of a historic pub in Nottinghamshire, UK, via a partnership with new local microbrewer Lincoln Green. The pub was turned from a building that had been boarded up for 18 months into a thriving brewery tap serving 15 cask ales. Here is an article all about that project.
