Style: Saison/Farmhouse Ale
Ecliptic Brewing, local to Portland, OR, created this seasonal farmhouse ale/saison to satisfy those who enjoy beer with a fruitiness to it. The Rosette Saison has a warm feeling that goes along with it, that would be perfect for the Autumn and Winter seasons in the cooler weather.
Appearance: Ecliptic’s Rosette Saison pours a hazy amber color with a reddish tint, along with a good sized off-white head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma: The saison has a strong aroma of strawberry, flowers, leaves and cloves. It also has hints of malty sweetness with an emphasis on the Belgian yeast and strawberries.
Taste: The Rosette Saison’s taste is true to its name, being distinctly saison with subdued hints of strawberry. It’s yeasty and flowery, tasting almost like a beer equivalent of hibiscus tea. It’s a little sour, with a slight taste of apple cider vinegar.
Mouthfeel: The saison has a creamy start and dry end. It’s very smooth and crisp, with boozy tastes to it and lingers on the palette for a while.
