Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Carolina Brewery raised awareness and funds in support of Susan G. Komen®’s North Carolina Triangle to the Coast division by transforming its popular “Sky Blue Golden Ale” into “Sky Pink Golden Ale.” Carolina Brewery hosted events throughout the month to benefit Komen NCTC, including an Oktoberfest 5k run. Sky Pink cans were available in limited-edition six-packs with pink can tops, courtesy of PakTech®, at restaurants and retail locations throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.
Carolina Brewery will host a check presentation ceremony and luncheon at their Chapel Hill Brewpub (460 West Franklin Street) on Tuesday, November 10th at 12pm. About Susan G. Komen® North Carolina Triangle to Coast
Susan G. Komen is the world’s largest breast cancer organization, funding more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. Komen was founded by Nancy G. Brinker, who promised her sister, Susan G. Komen, that she would end the disease that claimed Suzy’s life. Komen NCTC is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local community. Through events like the Komen Triangle Race for the Cure®, the Komen Wilmington Race for the Cure® and the Finding Solutions Through Science, Scholars and Survivors Luncheon, Komen NCTC has invested $14 million in community breast health programs in 29 counties in central and eastern North Carolina and has helped contribute to the more than $800 million invested globally in research.
