Alpine brews a special beer to celebrate Bine & Vine‘s 3rd Anniversary
Geoi, owner of Bine & Vine, a bottle shop in the Normal Heights neighborhood of San Diego City, has had a long relationship with the legendary brewery Alpine Beer Co. Text from the beer label:
From South Bay Drugs to Bine & Vine, we started carrying Alpine Beer Company’s great beers back in 2003 and were one of their first bottle accounts. So, fittingly, I wanted our Anniversary Ale to be brewed by them. Our 3rd Anniversary Ale is an American IPA brewed with Mosaic, Citra & Simcoe hops and is a tribute to our longtime, loyal customers who’ve supported us throughout the years.
This is an IPA, clocking in at 6.5% ABV and pours with a dark straw color with a white head that dissipates to a halo, leaving light lacing down the glass. Tropical smell of guava and mango, with a big citrus taste up front, followed by tropical juicy flavors of mango, guava and light pine. The beer finishes clean but with a slight malt sweetness. The carbonation is a bit low but that seems to enhance the juicy taste. I am real surprised that there is no nelson hops used in this one, with such a juicy, fruity taste. Get one of these if you can. You’ll regret if if you don’t.
You can only buy these at Bine and Vine. They are not available at the Alpine tasting room or pub.
