Reddish gold in color and amazingly smooth for a high alcohol 10.3% ale, Chuckanut Barleywine is a beer for celebrating the season. Lots of wine grapes, fruit and toffee flavors collide with a dry smooth finish. Chuckanut’s Barleywine has the characteristics of both American and English styles of this kind of very old strong ale. A balance of sweetness from the large percentage of Vienna malts that were used and a slight bitterness from noble hops mingle together for a warming palate and balanced flavors.
