Created as a part of Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp, their Tropical IPA is their spring seasonal favorite and one of the 26 collaborations they feature over the course of 52 weeks. This year’s spring seasonal features an intensely aromatic hoppy IPA with tropical flavors thanks to the use of Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops. This particular IPA is easy to drink and a great one to try if the bitterness of IPAs deter you from drinking them.
Appearance: The Tropical IPA pours a clear gold color with a thick white head that settles slowly, leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Tropical IPA has an aromatic hop-nose with tropical fruitiness. There are hints of mango and papaya that are noted.
Taste: True to its aroma, the IPA is all fruity goodness, with a tropical citrusy-hop presence, and some malts to balance the bitterness. Hints of mango, papaya, and grapefruit are among the fruitiness that is tasted.
Mouthfeel: The Tropical IPA is light-bodied with a good amount of carbonation. It has a mildly bitter, citrusy finish.
