It’s an important day to honor those who were brave enough to protect our country. And what better way is there for beer lovers to honor them them than with a cheers with good beer? Here’s some suggestions of what you may want to try this Memorial Day:

The brewing company infused vanilla and San Diego’s own Caffe Calabria coffee into this robust porter, creating a winning combination of a balanced brew.

Allies Win the War – 21st Amendment & Ninkasi Brewing (English Strong Ale) This English strong ale is a collaboration brew between 21st Amendment, located in California, and Ninkasi Brewing, located in Oregon. The collaboration showcases Californian dates, all north-western hops, and an unmistakable aroma of a victoriously delicious craft brew.

Liberty Ale – Anchor Brewing Company (American IPA) This American IPA embraces the essences of America…and IPAs. It’s brewed strictly according to traditional craft brewing methods and only uses natural ingredients. It embraces the essence of an original craft brewed ale and what started a brew revolution.

It’s brewed with malted barley and special grains and a dash of beechwood smoked malt. It comes together to feature notes of semi-sweet flavors of cocoa and coffee, with an underlying hint of smokiness. It’s definitely the craft brew to try for those who enjoy a stronger, dark beer.

Freedom Road – Veteran Brewing Company (American Amber/Red Lager) Freedom Road from Veteran Beer Co. is an easy to drink American amber lager at 5.0% ABV and 23 IBUs. It starts off with hints of caramel and black malts then moves to notes of Cascade and Hersbrucker hops. This produces its distinctly earthy aroma and well-balanced body.

About The Author

I am a adventure-seeker, dog lover, and beer enthusiast from Honolulu, Hawaii who is now enjoying life in San Diego. My interest in craft beer began in Belgium during my time studying abroad in London, England, and was only furthered after I returned to the States. Since moving down to San Diego, I have enjoyed many new experiences with my pup, including visiting pet-friendly tasting rooms and the city’s great outdoors. I enjoy her daily cup of coffee and quality time spent at the gym. As someone always looking forward to trying something new, being an Alien will open doors to new experiences.
